Penulitmate school week, pupils are presenting their science projects. Every year after we finish teaching syllabus we let them pick a project and work on it for the whole week, ending in presentations for the rest of the school on the friday. Most of them enjoy this free project as a welcome break from the regular classes and it has been quite fun to tutor them on their own ideas.

This project is called "What is a flame"

You suck at marketing!

How about before the beginning of September?

The data from the bargaweather.com station on my roof which is automatically updated every two minutes from the last 2 years can be found here .... check out yourself what the weather was like in September last year and the year before

ignore those high wind readings that you see every now and again ... that is a software glitch that I have not managed to weed out and kill ... every time the station gets damp the wind reading goes screwy

I didn't mean if the weather will be good then, but it's either September or May, and even May not sure - we still don't know when exactly we'll have the exams -  plus I've been putting this off kinda long, so, yeah.

What exactly in that picture do you think is caused by a lack of rain and why do you think lack of rains causes it?

The stuff you make bread with?

But hmm, I felt a bit silly when someboday explained to me today that this is simply how grass procreates.... ?!Then why (oh why) did I never see that in my whole life? Why didn't I see it last year in Berlin? As always, something terrible is afoot and nobody seems to care... the Euro Cup is just a distraction... somebody is planting this stuff. I know it.

Seriously, it's weird and pretty to me, and also everywhere. Of course I'm not sure I 'never' saw that anywhere except fields, but this overabundance is definately new to me.

Because it hasn't rained in over 2 months with the exception of a few days, and everything is yellow and dying, except these which are now growing everywhere. I figured it's a niche. that when the plants that need more water have whittered away, this stuff comes through?

Thanks for clearing that up! Fuck, I wish I had taken more pics... I noticed it has been cut already in lots of places... another question: when is the best time to plant it?

It's really pretty when it's dotted everywhere, and that probably makes birds happy, too! smile.gif

Everyone wins, except the other plants of course, which would die miserably, which in turn would trigger a chain reaction that ends up with Berlin sinking back into the swamp it was built on. sad.gif

I'd love to know who is doing this.. or rather, how many persons are doing this and if they know each other. I like to imagine it's just randomly growing, which is probably not the case but one can dream...

Yes, fine is the word, for a scary second I thought you said "nice" laugh.gif

I don't think she uses lenses, she doesn't even use her eyes, she just points her freckles at stuff and they hop onto her memory card.

(seriously though, I think she mentioned something 2.8 from Sigma)
