Not really a game - until you make one up yourself, that is.

Nexuiz is a fast paced 3d deathmatch game project created online by a team of developers called Alientrap. It is available for download for Windows, Mac, and Linux (all the same archive).

The first version was released May 31st 2005, released entirely GPL and free over the net, a first for a project of its kind. Since then it has been downloaded over 1.5 million times, and the game is still being updated and developed, currently at version 2.4 and new releases being developed.

The latest releases has some really great user interface polishes - if you don't like it now, you don't like it.

The gameplay is very frantic on all game modes... and there is also instagib (with a rocket jump weapon that does no damage on the right mouse button), playing that with grappling hook enabled is pretty sick hah. Lots of bunny hopping acceleration, no fall damage = great mindless fun. I think the player models suck and some of the maps that are played on servers are kinda ugly, but the game itself is pretty cool for a quick deathmatch session.
