Tinghaug on Jæren. This is very near the place I grew up - Jæren is a flat agricultural area to the southwest of Norway, not unlike the terrain you will find in Denmark or in the north of Scotland.

Orre beach. One of Jæren's most famous attractions are the long fine grain sandy beaches - this is the best one. Normally, swimming is only recommended for people with wetsuits, but this day the water was nice. I remember that growing up here, a day like this one only came about every few years.

Took the sightseeing cruise from Stavanger harbour into Lysefjorden.

Halfway in the fjord is the "Pekestolen" - The preachers chair. 700m drop to the water!
This is the main attraction on the tour. Tomorrow I'll try to drive around and get to the top.
